Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Open Coordination Unlimited, Inc. ("OCU", "we", "us") about your use of Olympus: the Olympus software that runs on your Mac, the Olympus plugin for ChatGPT, the relay at mcp.olympusplugin.ai, and this website (together, "Olympus"). By using Olympus you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how data is handled.

1. What Olympus is

Olympus indexes sources you choose on your own Mac and answers questions about them, including questions asked through ChatGPT. The software runs on your computer. The relay passes requests between ChatGPT and your Mac. Olympus is not made by or affiliated with OpenAI, Google, Dropbox or Venice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, the same minimum age as ChatGPT, and allowed to use ChatGPT under OpenAI's terms. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Olympus is not directed at children under 13. If you use Olympus for an organization, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

3. Your content and accounts

• Your mail, files, notes and other content remain yours. We claim no rights in them and, because they stay on your Mac, we do not receive them.
• You may connect only accounts and content you are entitled to access, and you remain responsible for complying with the terms of those services (for example Google, Dropbox and OpenAI).
• You are responsible for your Mac, its security, and who can use it. Anyone who can use your Mac while it is unlocked may be able to approve connections to Olympus.

4. Software licence

The Olympus software is open source and is licensed to you under the MIT License, which governs your use, copying and modification of the software. These terms govern the services we operate, such as the relay and the ChatGPT plugin listing. If anything in these terms conflicts with the MIT License for the software itself, the MIT License governs the software.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Olympus to access content or accounts you are not authorized to access;
• attack, overload, probe or bypass the security or limits of the relay, or use it for anything other than connecting your own Olympus to ChatGPT;
• use Olympus to break the law or to violate the rights of others, or in breach of OpenAI's usage policies;
• use the reviewer demo for anything other than evaluating Olympus.

We may suspend or block an install's access to the relay to protect the service or other users, or if these terms are broken.

6. Answers can be wrong

Olympus and ChatGPT generate answers automatically from your sources. Answers can be incomplete or wrong, and automatic tier labels can be wrong. Check important answers against the cited items. Olympus is not a substitute for professional advice, including medical, legal or financial advice.

7. Availability and changes

Olympus only answers while your Mac is awake, online and running it. We provide the relay without any promise of availability, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Olympus. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes. Olympus is currently free. If we ever introduce charges, we will tell you in advance and you will not be charged without agreeing.

8. Third-party services

ChatGPT, Google, Dropbox, Venice and other services you use with Olympus are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for them.

9. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Olympus is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OCU will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Olympus. Our total liability for any claim relating to Olympus is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Olympus in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Ending use

You may stop using Olympus at any time: disconnect it in ChatGPT, uninstall it, and delete its data as described in the privacy policy. We may end these terms or your access to the relay as described in section 5.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or Olympus will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and OCU consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, give notice before they take effect. Continuing to use Olympus after that means you accept the new terms.
