Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT reaches Olympus on your computer through the Olympus relay. You approve it once, on that computer, with one click: no code to copy and no account to create.
Olympus is on its way to ChatGPT's app directory. Until it is listed, you add it yourself as a custom MCP server; if ChatGPT doesn't offer that, turn on Developer mode first. OpenAI decides which accounts have Developer mode; in a work or school workspace, an admin may need to allow it.
Before you start
- Olympus installed on your computer. One line in a terminal. On Omarchy, ChatGPT may still say Olympus needs a Mac; it works on Omarchy too.
- Be at that computer. The approval opens in its browser.
Connect
- Add Olympus. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. If you don't see Add custom MCP server, turn on Developer mode in Settings first.
- Fill it in. Name it Olympus, choose OAuth, and paste this address as the URL:
Then save it.https://mcp.olympusplugin.ai/mcp - Approve on your computer. A page opens in your computer's browser, Approve ChatGPT on your Mac (it says Mac on Omarchy too), and moves on by itself to Connect ChatGPT to Olympus? Choose Connect. That click is how Olympus knows the computer is yours.
- Connect your sources. Ask ChatGPT Show my Olympus dashboard. Choose Connect next to Dropbox, Gmail or Google Drive, pick folders, then Save and start. For Gmail and Google Drive, Connect gives you a link to open on your computer, where Google sign-in happens.
- Ask. Ask about your own things in plain words. Anything Private is answered on your computer and shown in a panel marked Not sent to ChatGPT.
Good to know
- If the approval page says Olympus did not answer on this computer, it opened somewhere other than the computer where Olympus runs. Start again from ChatGPT on that computer.
- Your computer needs to be awake and online for ChatGPT to reach Olympus. It opens no ports; it only makes an outgoing connection. If ChatGPT says your computer is offline.
- The relay passes requests between ChatGPT and your computer. It stores and logs no questions, answers or tokens, but like any HTTPS service it handles them in transit.
- To disconnect, remove Olympus from your plugins in ChatGPT. On the computer, the dashboard's Agents page (under On this computer) lists connected apps, each with Revoke.
