Connect Grok
Grok on grok.com reaches Olympus on your computer through the Olympus relay. You approve it once, on that computer, with one click: no code to copy and no account to create.
Before you start
- Olympus installed on your computer. One line in Terminal.
- Be at that computer. The approval opens in its browser, so start on grok.com on that computer.
Connect
- Add the connector. Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, and paste this address as the MCP server URL:
https://mcp.olympusplugin.ai/mcp - Sign in. Continue to sign in.
- Approve on your computer. A page opens in your computer's browser asking to connect Grok to Olympus. Choose Connect. That click is how Olympus knows the computer is yours.
- Ask. Ask about your own things in plain words. Grok answers from what is Personal, with citations. For your Private things it gets at most an answer written on your computer, by the model built into Olympus (or Venice, if you set it up), never the things themselves, though that answer can repeat what they say. Otherwise it is told that the answer is in Olympus on your computer, with a link that opens it there: open your Inbox on the computer to read it. Olympus keeps that answer in the Inbox until you delete it, revoke the app, or delete a source it drew on.
Grok Bot
Grok Bot uses this same connection: once Olympus is connected on grok.com, Grok Bot can ask it too, with the same xAI account. There is nothing more to add in Grok Bot.
Good to know
- If the approval page says Olympus did not answer on this computer, it opened somewhere other than the computer where Olympus runs. Start again from Grok on that computer.
- Your computer needs to be awake and online for Grok to reach Olympus. It opens no ports; it only makes an outgoing connection. If Grok says your computer is offline.
- The relay passes requests between Grok and your computer. It stores and logs no questions, answers or tokens, but like any HTTPS service it handles them in transit.
- To disconnect, remove the Olympus connector at grok.com/connectors. On the computer, the dashboard's Agents page (under On this computer) lists connected apps, each with Revoke.
